The Danish populace responded with a boycott, shunning the hotel that had become a reluctant emblem of foreign dominance.
Post-War Struggles and Economic Hardships

In December 1993, The Remmen Foundation acquired the beleaguered establishment, aiming to restore its former grandeur.

In 2011, the hotel underwent an ambitious restoration, closing its doors to facilitate a comprehensive refurbishment. Reopened in 2013, the d’Angleterre sought to balance its storied legacy with contemporary luxury.
